Dedicated SSL Certificate

A dedicated SSL is unique and essentially registers an individual trader as having a secure site. For customers this translates to peace of mind, as they're able to confirm in seconds that they're sending their credit card details to the real joebloggs.com (for example) and not an impostor's site.

Example: a customer hosting a site http://www.joebloggs.com can access the site securely using a URL similar to https://secure.joebloggs.com.

Shared SSL Certificate for Windows Hosting Packages

With a shared SSL certificate, customers can access selected areas of your site through Zen's shared domain. A typical shared SSL URL would look something like: https://securehost1.zen.co.uk/joebloggs.

A shared certificate provides the same level of security as a dedicated certificate, but it does not provide a consistent domain URL reference. For e-commerce users and those customers requiring a consistent presentation of their Web site, we would recommend selecting a dedicated certificate.
