What do you do at Zen?

I lead a team of 8 Provisioning co-ordinators - to manage and fulfil all work in progress orders covering all products other than Ethernet. To escalate orders that have gone into jeopardy with our Suppliers and get them over the line. To meet our Service Levels daily. We look after our Partners through Zebra and the ICP. To constantly look for ways of improving what we do whether it is via processes, systems, or training.

In Tech I lead a team of 9 consultants, we work hard to create a first-time resolution either via phone, email, live chat or social media. When first time resolution is not possible to ensure that the Customer is passed accurately to our Fault Management Team.

What makes you proud of being a women in Tech?

Building my skills, confidence, knowledge, and resilience. Taking ownership of my own development opportunities and helping to smash those barriers. I really enjoy paying this forward to not only my Direct Reports but to others within Zen itself too. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone else achieve their dreams and to be a small part of that is so fulfilling.

What do you think could entice more women into working in Tech?

I joined Zen when I was 36 and really didn’t think there would be much opportunity for me to develop my career, my own limiting belief that maybe I was too old at that point. But this changed with the Support I received from my Team Leader at the time and the Learning & Development Team. This has enabled me to choose my development path and take it where I wanted and have achieved so far everything I have wanted to do.

So, the biggest lesson for me and what I would like to share is please don’t let your limiting beliefs get in the way of your career. You are neither too old, too young, too experienced, or inexperienced to start on your journey and oh what a journey it has been, and I cannot wait to see what is round the next corner for me.
