Back in August 2020, we officially became a certified B Corporation.
That means we’re part of a growing community of organisations committed to using business as a force for good. It’s a formal commitment to putting people, our communities and the environment first. You can find out more about Zen and B Corp here.
But as we highlighted in this previous article, joining the B Corp community is a way of being held accountable for the things we do. Instead of empty gestures or hollow ambitions, it ensures that we are measured against specific objectives – a great way to make sure we’re hitting the mark and identifying ways we can improve.
And that brings us to the present day…
Annual Impact Report
Every three years, B Corp businesses must recomplete and pass the B Impact Assessment – that’s the process by which businesses obtain B Corporation status.
In the intervening years, we are required to produce an Annual Impact Report, which details our B Corp journey, highlighting all the steps we’ve taken to meet the B Corp objectives and what we’re doing for our people, customers, our community and the wider environment.

The future
We’ve made so much progress over the last year, and we’re excited to share the details with you in our Impact Report. But we’re not resting on our laurels… 2022 has lots more in store.
We remain committed to our Carbon Neutral + status, and our desire to become Net Zero, and we can now announce that, very soon, we’ll be launching our router recycling programme.
If you choose to leave Zen in the future (we hope you don’t!), or you upgrade your router at any point, you’ll soon be able to return your old Zen router to us for recycling. It’s just one way we’re helping to contribute to the reduction of global carbon emissions, and something we know that many of our customers have been asking about for a while. We’ll be providing more details on the programme in the coming weeks.
Throughout 2022 we’ll also be coming up with more and more ways to reduce our energy use and our carbon footprint, all the while determined to provide the very best products and service to you.
