A chat with Clive Selley, CEO of Openreach

We were delighted to welcome Clive Selley, CEO of Openreach, to our Rochdale HQ for a chat with our CEO Richard Tang. Clive is responsible for overseeing the UK’s largest digital network, which connects millions of homes and businesses to broadband and voice services.

The timing of Clive’s visit was perfect, as Ofcom had just announced its decision on Openreach’s Equinox 2 scheme – aimed at lowering the price of full fibre products – which had come under fire from some alternative network providers.

Clive gave us an update on Openreach’s plans to build full fibre to 25 million premises and beyond, rural broadband, and BT Group’s recently announced job cuts. He also shared his views on the role of Openreach in supporting the UK’s digital economy and society.
