Zen climbers reach new heights for animal charity

In May, more than 30 Zen staff members took on the ‘Zen Nevis’ challenge in support of Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, our chosen charity for this year.

Eight teams of climbers from different departments tackled the daunting task of scaling the equivalent height of Ben Nevis using the main staircase at Zen’s Sandbrook Park HQ. And we even set up a basecamp at the foot of the stairs to create a real mountain climb atmosphere!

To conquer the Zen Nevis challenge, each team would need to ascend and descend the staircase 113 times. But two brave climbers, Vicki Allen and Ethan Hughes, went above and beyond by taking on the challenge solo!

As temperatures soared throughout the day the challenge became more and more difficult, but our climbers persevered to the end and completed the challenge successfully, cheered on by Sandbrook Park residents and visitors alike and spurred on by their kind donations.

To date, our climbers have raised an amazing £1870.50, but it isn’t too late to show your support for the Zen Nevis challenge.
